Amphan, the super cyclone has created havoc in Odisha, West Bengal, and Bangladesh. It is said to be one of the worst storms over the Bay of Bengal since 1999. Amidst all the horror created by the deadly cyclone, here are a bunch of deadly photos and videos shared by Instagrammers.

The Bay of Bengal is hit frequently by cyclones. The months of November and May, in particular, are dangerous in this regard.

LET THE SKY FALL This is exactly how the Calcutta sky line looks like right now. Super cyclone #amphan will hit at a speed of 270 kmph which is by far the highest speed recorded in the Bay of Bengal. Amphan is now the strongest cyclone ever recorded in the east coast leaving behind the 1999 cyclone which came at a speed of 260 kmph. একটা ছোট্ট নমুনা যে, কাল বট গাছ টাকে যেনো কেউ মাটি থেকে চেঁচে উফরে ফেলেছে কোদাল দিয়ে। এটা কালকের ওই বিধ্বংসী আমফানের আমাদের এখান থেকে চলে যাওয়ার সাক্ষী। এলাকার চারপাশের পরিস্হিতি ও জি টি রোডের যা অবস্থা সেটা আর নাইবা দিলাম। আমার আজ সকালে দেখে কষ্টে বুকটা ফেটে যাচ্ছে। চারিদিকে লন্ডভন্ড, কারোর বাড়ির ছাদ নেই, লাইট পোস্ট গুলো বেশির ভাগটাই যেনো শুয়ে ঘুমাচ্ছে রাস্তার ওপর। পুকুরের সব জল যেনো রাস্তায় উঠে এসে খেলা করছে সঙ্গে সেখানকার মাছ গুলোও। আগে এরকম বৃষ্টি হলে জল আসতো সঙ্গে মাছও আর তখন অনেকেই দেখতাম মাছ ধরার তালে মত্ত থাকতো কিন্তু আজ যেনো সব বন্ধ। খবর জলের যেনো হাহাকার পরে গেছে চারিদিকে। দোকান পাট কিছু খুললেও বেশির ভাগটাই বন্ধ কারণ খোলার মতন পরিস্থিতি যে নেই আমফান যেনো সেগুলোর বেশ কিছুটা অংশ সঙ্গে করে কোথাও নিয়ে চলে গেছে। পাশেই গঙ্গা, কিন্তু সেখানকার পরিস্থিতি যে কি হয়েছে জানিনা। চারিদিকে সরকারি লোকজন হয় তো কাজে লেগেছে কিন্তু কবে আর কখন সব পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক হবে জানি না। সারা দক্ষিণ বঙ্গের কালকের ঘটনাতে ক্ষয় ক্ষতির পরিমাণ এখনো পর্যন্ত হয়তো পুরোপুরি ভাবে জানা সম্ভব হয় নি কিন্তু সেটা যে একটা বিশাল পরিমাণ তাতে কোনো সন্ধেয়ের অবকাশ থাকে না। করোনা তে জেরবার গোটা বিশ্ব সেখান থেকে আমাদের দেশ ও রাজ্যও আলাদা নয় আর তার মধ্যে আজ এই পুরো দক্ষিণ বঙ্গের কথা লেখা থাকবে চিরতরে সারা ভারতবর্ষের ও পৃথিবীর প্রাকিতিক বিপর্যয়ে ঘটে যাওয়া ঘটনার ইতিহাসের পাতায়। সব শেষে এটুকুই বলবো এইরকম বিষ সাল যেনো আর কোনো আগামী শতাব্দীর বিশে না আসে। আবার সেরে ওঠো আমার মাতৃভূমি, আমার সোনার বাংলা, আমার সোনার ভারতবর্ষ তথা সারা বিশ্ব। 🙏😔 #amphan #amphancyclone #naturaldisaster #supercyclone #2020 #worstyearever #myinstagramfolowers #mypost #supercyclone #effectsofcyclone #prayforall #godsaveus #mothernature #natureeffect #nationaldisaster #westbengal #hooghly #😔 #🙏
