Two of the biggest festivals of Jharkhand, ‘Shravani Mela’ and ‘Rath Yatra’, is not likely to happen this year due to Covid-19.
‘Shravani Mela’, the month-long festival is celebrated during the holy month of Shravan (July-August) at Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar and also in Dumka.
Whereas, Rath Yatra, also known as the ‘Chariot Festival’ is celebrated in different parts of the state during the month of Asadha (June-July).
Both the festivals are a highly auspicious affair in the state which is attended by lakhs of devotees every year. The Government of Jharkhand has taken the decision, to avoid public gathering which may lead to the outspread of Covid-19.
